The Summer

The summer is the bright future for the character as the sun can light up the world and somehow instill a hope in us all. It is the stage of growth where we shed our old skin to let the warmth of the summer on our new skin and breathe life into us.

We find the character hopeful and reflectively pondering the rebuilding of relationships, love, and healing.

My mental health nurse looked up from her notepad and said.

Be grateful for what you do have.

And not consumed with what other got.

She said I’ve seen this before, you’re a perfect example of a restless mind.

You’ll always be reaching and trying to fill that hole inside.

But sometimes when you least expect it.

What’s eluding you.

Well it starts to happen.

And you step out from all the static and the chaos.

You start stitching your life back together.

Cause’ it dulls your shine.
